A collaboration between all area churches and other community organizations, as well as dedicated volunteers

When Is the Food Pantry Open?

Third Thursday of the Month

4PM to 6PM- depending on number of families desiring assistance, wait is typically only 10 to 15 minutes. 

Park in Parking Lot of Spencerville Trinity UMC

Volunteers will be out to assist you from your vehicle. With start of the COVID-19 pandemic, only volunteers are now allowed into the building. 

Is there other times available for food donations drop off?

Yes. Other times can be arranged for donation drop offs, please contact one of the volunteers or churches found here.

Who Does the Food Pantry Serve?

Local Spencerville Area

We are open to serving anyone in need throughout the Spencerville Local School District. For those outside the school district, we ask that you contact the West Ohio Food Bank to find your local food bank. 

Do I need anything to qualify for assistance?

Volunteers will be out to assist you with this question. Our food bank utilizes West Ohio Food Bank for supplies and follows their guidelines for income limits and assistance. All families receiving assistance must fill out donation acceptance form on their first visit. 

Can someone else pick up food for me?

Yes, but please contact food bank to complete necessary form. The food pantry does not deliver food to anyone.

Local Area Churches

The Community Samaritans Food Pantry began with the local area churches coming together to create a local food bank for the residents of Spencerville Local Schools. Over the years, additional churches have joined and community organizations and businesses have contributed to the success of our small town food pantry.

Can I volunteer at the Food Bank?

YES! Each month a different church helps to staff the regular month pantry, but volunteers who can make trips up and down stairs are appreciated every month. Each church has a contact person that should be able to assist you.
